About Niagara Lodge No. 2
Ancient Free and Accepted Masons
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario

A Heritage of Brotherhood
Established in the earliest days of Upper Canada, Niagara Lodge No. 2, A.F. & A.M. stands among the oldest Masonic Lodges in Ontario. Its origins are interwoven with the founding of Niagara-on-the-Lake itself—then known as Newark—the first capital of the Province and a cornerstone of our nation’s early development.
From those formative years to the present day, Niagara Lodge No. 2 has upheld the noble traditions of Freemasonry: the pursuit of moral truth, the cultivation of virtue, and the strengthening of the bonds of brotherhood among men.
Our Enduring Purpose
Freemasonry teaches that the betterment of the individual contributes to the betterment of society. Guided by the timeless principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, the Brethren of Niagara Lodge No. 2 are dedicated to fostering personal integrity, charitable service, and the advancement of knowledge.
Within the quiet dignity of our Lodge room, men from every walk of life meet upon the level, act by the plumb, and part upon the square—symbols of the equality, uprightness, and sincerity that define our Craft.

A Living Link to the Past
The Lodge’s history is a reflection of Niagara’s own story—one of perseverance, loyalty, and civic spirit. Through wars, reconstruction, and centuries of change, Niagara Lodge No. 2 has remained a steadfast presence in the community.
Many of the region’s early leaders, tradesmen, and citizens counted themselves among its members, united by their desire to build a just and enlightened society. Today, their legacy endures in the conduct and character of those who follow in their footsteps.
